Gladstone City Library has a Local Collection Room which houses the local history collection and family history resources. The books, reports, newspaper clippings, microfiche, microfilm, and other paraphernalia are only accessible in the Local Collection Room. Older editions of the Gladstone Observer are available on microfilm. Bookings to use the reader/printer (for microfiche & microfilm) can be made by phoning 4976 6400.

Links to a variety of useful and reliable websites have been provided on our Family History Online page (as part of our Online Information Links) to assist you with your family history research.  The page can connect you to sites that provide instructions or guidance, cemetery records, archives and libraries, and access to records for births/marriages/deaths.

Ancestry® Library Edition is a family history research database that can be accessed on the public computers located at each Gladstone Regional Libraries’ branch. Access is to the public library edition of Ancestry and does not contain all features available within personal subscriptions. The Local Collection Room at Gladstone City Library has a computer specifically for local and family history research.
