The Gladstone Regional Library service has a broad range of services available both in person and online.

Accessibility

Gladstone Regional Libraries have a range of services and collections available to improve the library accessibility to all of our patrons. A wide range of Audio and eBooks are available as well as Dyslexic Friendly and Large Print items.

Bookclubs

Want to join an existing club or start one at your local library? We’ve got resources for starting your own bookclub available for members. If you don’t want to form your own why not join one of our library run clubs or join online for Ben’s Online Bookclub each month.

Computers and Printing

All our libraries have computers for public access with free internet access and a variety of software. Printing from our computers and photocopying are available for a fee. For more information go to Computers & Printing.

3D printers are available at Boyne Island, Calliope and Gladstone City Libraries.  More information is available here about types of prints and how to request them.

Collections for all Ages

Gladstone Regional Library branches have collections of fiction and non-fiction books for all ages, as well as large print books, magazines, CDs, audio books, and DVDs. To search our catalogue or join online just click here.

The Gladstone Libraries App is also available to download, to access the library catalogue, eLibrary resources, and store your library card on your phone so you’re never without it.

Programs for all Interests

With six branches region wide we offer a range of programs to suit all interests including:

  • Adult Programs. Card & board games, movies, or just a cuppa and chat session, each of our library branches run a variety of programs aimed at adults.
  • Children and Youths. Check out our Young Peoples pages for programs aimed at 0-18 years old.
  • Gardening programs. To complement our free seed library, we have a range of gardening themed activities for all ages throughout the year.
  • MakerTime programs. Like to make things with your hands? We’ve got a variety of Makerspace type activities for all ages to get their hands on.
  • Tech Help. Check out our range of digital literacy and technology assistance programs.

Home Library Service

Gladstone Regional Libraries provide a Home Library Service to residents of Gladstone, Boyne Island, Tannum Sands and Calliope. The Home Library Service caters to the needs of residents who are unable to visit a library due to medical, physical, or other special reasons. For more information click here

History and Genealogy

Gladstone City Library has a Local Collection Room which houses the local studies and genealogy collections, as well as computers and a microform reader for research. For more information click here.

Our Family History Online page provides a variety of links to assist you with your family history research.  Assistance can also be provided as part of our Tech Help programs.

Justice of the Peace Service

A JP is available at some of our branches dependant on volunteer availability. A full list of dates and contact details are available on our Justice of the Peace page.

Local Author Books for Sale

Meeting Rooms for Hire

Meeting rooms are available for hire at Boyne Island, Calliope and Gladstone City libraries; more information is available here.

Out & About Library Service

The Out & About Library van visits the communities of Wartburg, Lowmead, and Rosedale fortnightly on Mondays, the Boyne Valley on one Wednesday per fortnight, and Yarwun on Fridays on alternate weeks. The scheduled fortnightly visits and more information can be found here.

Seed Library & Community Gardens

The Seed Library is available at all branches of Gladstone Regional Libraries. We also have several community gardens cropping up where you can relax and enjoy the environment, assist with gardening tasks, and collect produce. More information is available here.
