After School Children’s Programs

STEAM AHEAD logo

STEAM Ahead is a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths (STEAM) based after-school program aimed at children 8 years and older.

Our STEAM program  runs fortnightly on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm (school terms only) at Gladstone City Library.

Spaces are limited and bookings are essential.

Children must be at least 8 years old by the date of the activity session and no exceptions will be made for anyone younger. The age limit is strictly adhered to due to the use of products and/or methods unsuitable for younger children.

Who Arted? Explore where your creativity can take you as you complete artistic and crafty projects! Learn some basic sewing, painting, printing and construction skills at the library.

This program is for children aged 9 and over. No exceptions will be made for anyone younger due to the materials and techniques used in the classes.

The LEGO Literacy programs are for children aged 5 and over. Join us to learn, discover, and create with LEGO. 

The program is made up of three core activities that children can rotate through.

Free Play Table: Where children can use their imagination and create whatever they like

Word Play Table: A take home handout full of puzzles and reading suggestions on the monthly theme

Challenge Table: Where a monthly challenge is set and the children can solve however they like.

Held at Boyne Island Library and Calliope each month, Bookings are essential at the Calliope sessions.
